Mr. Aftab Husain - Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Aftab Husain is working in Pakistan Refinery Limited, Karachi as Managing Director & CEO since 2011.  He is a Chemical Engineer and MPA from IBA, Karachi. Mr. Husain has a career in oil refining with over 39 years of diversified experience with PRL, having led all Operations, Technical and Commercial functions in the Refinery. He is also member of the National Integrated Energy Plan in the Energy Expert Group of the Economic Advisory Committee and serves as Refining Specialist. Mr. Husain has been associated with different committees and working groups on oil pricing mechanism, deregulation and refinery issues with the Ministry of Petroleum, Government of Pakistan.

 

Mr. Husain is currently Chairman, Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC) for 2017 and has also served in this capacity in 2015. He has been serving as Trustee, Board of Trustees, Karachi Port Trust, since 2015 and is also a Director of Petroleum Institute of Pakistan (PIP) and Pak Grease Manufacturing Company (Private) Limited.

 

Mr. Aftab Husain remained an elected member of the Managing Committee of Overseas Investors' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) from 2014-2016.

 


 

Mr. Asad Hasan - Deputy Managing Director (Ops & Engg)

Mr. Asad Hasan joined PRL in Dec, 2007. He is an engineer by profession and graduated from The University of Texas, Austin, USA, with a Master of Science degree in Engineering and Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from N.E.D. University, Pakistan. He is currently working as Deputy Managing Director, heading the Refinery Operations, Engineering and Major Capital Projects departments.


Mr. Hasan has significant Project Management experience in the Global Oil and Gas industry and has successfully led numerous multi-disciplinary project teams during different project phases; ranging from conceptualization, FEED, EPC to commissioning and initial operations. Prior to joining Pakistan Refinery Limited, Asad was associated with Chevron, North America Upstream, California, USA, where he worked on numerous capital projects of varying size and complexity.

 


 

Mr. Imran Ahmad Mirza - Chief Financial Officer  

Mr. Imran Ahmad Mirza is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan with over 24 years of diversified experience. He had worked for M/s A. F. Ferguson & Co., chartered accountants (a member firm of PriceWaterhouseCoopers) in Audit & Business Assurance area. Before joining PRL he had worked for Pakistan State Oil Company Limited, PICIC, NIB Bank and IBL Group of companies in senior positions in Finance, Internal Audit and Corporate Secretarial.


 

Mr. Naman Shah - General Manager Technology & Inspection

Mr. Shah is a Chemical Engineer & has done his MBA. He has worked in various disciplines including Plant Operations, Technical Services, Human Resource & Projects for more than twenty years. Currently he is holding the position of General Manager Technology, Inspection and HSEQ. He is also Management Representative for the HSEQ Management System.


 

Mr. Muhammad Azhar - General Manager Operations

Mr. Muhammad Azhar is a graduate in chemical Engineering with Specialization in Petroleum and Gas Technology. He has joined Pakistan Refinery in 1985 and has 25 years of diversify experience in various discipline including Plant Operations, Technical Services, HSE and Supply Chain Management. His current position as General Manager Operations is responsible to ensure safe & smooth plant operation to meet company objectives in most effective and economical manners. In addition, being the Vice President of PRL Sports club contribute to team building, healthy environment and entertainment to the Employees.


 

Mr. Muhammad Ali Mirza - General Manager Project Advisory

Mr. Mirza is a Chemical Engineer & having a Masters degree in Environmental Engineering. He has over 26 years of diversified experience in refinery and fertilizers, worked in various disciplines including, Technical Services & Projects. Currently he is holding the position of General Manager Project Advisory.



 

 

Mr. Najam Mahmud - General Manager Human Resources

Mr. Najam Mahmud joined Pakistan Refinery Limited as “General Manager Human Resources” in April, 2014.

Najam completed his undergraduate and post graduate studies from the University of Kent, England, and later on Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Henley Business School, England. He has served a diversified range of organizations in various capacities throughout his career spanning almost 20 years, which include Shell Pakistan, HSBC, Abbott Laboratories and Praesidium Management Consultants and IFFCO Pakistan (Private) where he served as Head of HR and Administration.



 

Mr. Shehrzad Aminullah - General Manager Commercial & Company Secretary

Mr. Shehrzad Aminullah joined Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) in July 2008 as the Chief Internal Auditor and in April 2015, took over as General Manager Commercial. In August 2015, he was given additional responsibility of Company Secretary and also looked after the function of Corporate Counsel for six months. He is a Graduate of the London School of Economics and a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP).

After completing his Training Contract with Price Waterhouse (now Price Waterhouse Coopers), Shehrzad started his career in Pakistan in 1999 with Imperial Chemical Industries (now Akzo Nobel). During his stint with the ICI Group of Companies, he worked in different positions in Internal Audit and Finance (both in ICI and its sister concern Pakistan PTA Limited). He was inter alia responsible for assisting the Chief Internal Auditor, periodic Reporting to Milbank, (the then Headquarters of ICI) and dealing with all Banks and looking after the Company's Provident, Gratuity and Pension Funds as Treasury Manager of Pakistan PTA Limited.

 

In 2004, he joined Pakistan International Airlines as the Chief Internal Auditor with whom he continued till June 2008. In his capacity as Chief Internal Auditor of the National Airline, he not only looked after the core Internal Audit function, but was also responsible for the Final Settlement Unit and liaison with the Ministry of Defence with regard to Government / Commercial Audit Observations and Public Accounts Committee Meetings.

He has been Accredited as a Certified Director by the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance.


 

Mr. Muhammad Khalid - General Manager Engineering  

Mr. Muhammad Khalid is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering. He joined Pakistan Refinery Limited in 1989 and has over 23 years of experience in various discipline including Plant Maintenance, Inspection, Construction and Projects. His current position as Senior Manager Engineering is to ensure safe and uninterrupted Refinery operation through robust and effective maintenance program.
