CSR Donation to Flood Affected Areas of Sindh
In wake of the overwhelming floods which are ravaging the country at the moment it was decided by the Management that under our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme a donation be made to the Relief efforts in the flood impacted area’s on an immediate basis. In this connection when we reached out to the Army/Rangers who requested for Emergency Relief Medicines to be provided at the earliest. Meetings with the Flood Relief Coordination Officer from Head Quarters Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) , Lt Col Qaim Din were held to ascertain the exact nature of the medicines required and how would they be made available to the people in the far flung devastated regions of Interior Sindh. During the course of the meetings held between the two sides the flood relief efforts undertaken by the Armed Forces were momentously appreciated and it was reiterated that the public at large trusted the Armed Forces with their donations. The Officer representing the Director General Rangers at the meeting also specified that the deployment of Rangers within the province down to the District level makes it easier for the donations to reach the flood-hit areas.
The donation of emergency relief medicines worth Rs10 million by PRL was made directly to the Medicine Company presently supplying medicines at a subsidised rate to the Rangers for onward distribution in the affected areas. A cheque was subsequently handed over to the Flood Relief Coordination Officer from Head Quarters Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) , Lt Col Qaim Din by Deputy Managing Director (Finance & IT) / CFO on the 2nd of Sept,2022.
Team from the Refinery visited the Sindh Rangers Hospital, Block-A Near Board Office, North Nazimabad, Karachi and a small ceremony will held at the hospital premises to mark the occasion on the 7th of Sept, 2022. The medicines were inspected by the Dr Rauf Zaman, CMO and pictures were taken on the occasion as well as prayers made for the distressed people in particular and Pakistan in general by Qari, Abdul Sattar.
The team also witnessed the process of medicines being loaded and being despatched to the flood affected areas. The Rangers have coordinated the distribution of the medicines through 18 Division Head Quarters for Hyderabad and its surroundings. The 16 Division Head Quarters is engaged for Pannu Aqil and its surroundings while a Army Medical Camp established at Sehwan will be entrusted with the distribution of medicines in the respective area of responsibility.
The donation marks an endeavour by the Refinery to help the destitute populace of the province of Sindh in these trying times and serves as a testimony to the commitment of PRL towards the flood-affected people in times of need.
